Urs Hoffmann-Nowotny is an associate in our Dispute Resolution Group in Zurich. His main areas of practice are domestic and international commercial litigation and arbitration. He has special expertise in banking litigation and professional liability disputes.
Urs Hoffmann-Nowotny studied law at the University of Zurich from where he graduated in 2003 and received a doctorate in 2010. During his studies, Urs Hoffmann-Nowotny participated in the summer trainee program of a large global business law firm in Chicago. After internships at the District Court of Meilen and with another large business law firm in Zurich from 2004 onwards, he was admitted to the bar in Switzerland in 2006. He then worked as a research and teaching assistant to Prof. Dr. Hans Caspar von der Crone (chair of civil and commercial law) and Prof. Dr. Paul Oberhammer (chair of – inter alia – civil procedure, debt enforcement and bankruptcy law) at the University of Zurich, until 2009.
Urs Hoffmann-Nowotny has authored and co-authored several publications on civil procedure, civil and commercial law and – since 2008 – also is a lecturer for civil procedure at the University of Zurich. He joined our firm as an associate in 2010.
